Nothing screams fall like pumpkin spice and everything nice. Whether you’re making pumpkin spice creamer, pumpkin spice cheesecake, or simply want a dash of pumpkin spice in everything, this recipe has you covered.
For a long time, I thought I despised pumpkin spice. Then it hit me— I had never actually tried it. So, I went to the store and purchased pumpkin spice creamer. Boy, was I wrong because I absolutely loved it! The reality was I just didn’t like all the hype around it (or some of its ingredients). Plus, I thought it contained pumpkin for some reason. When I started making my own, I learned that pumpkin spice is just a blend of common pumpkin pie spices like cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and clove.
During fall, I tend to sprinkle pumpkin spice on my favorite sweet treats, especially hot chocolate! Yes, hot chocolate. Chocolate meets pumpkin spice – it’s the best of both worlds! I also enjoy this spice blend sprinkled into a cup of coffee, especially when I don’t have a fresh batch of my pumpkin spice creamer made. I still can’t believe there was a time when I thought I hated pumpkin spice.
Before diving into the recipe, I must mention that I prefer (and highly recommend) Ceylon cinnamon over the cassia variety often found in the store. Don’t know the difference? No worries. I welcome you to read my Benefits of Cinnamon blog post, where I discuss the differences (including potential benefits and risks) of cinnamon varieties.
Now, without further ado, I present a quick and easy pumpkin spice blend that offers a fall-feeling year-round. From pumpkin pie to pumpkin spice lattes and everything in between, this 5-minute recipe can spruce up just about anything in the kitchen. It’s naturally free from dairy, coconut, gluten, grains, nuts, and soy, and it’s even accidentally vegan, making it ideal for most.
